Seriously, where the heck is spring??

This was the view from our front door this morning. It has snowed twice this last week...enough of this crap already! When Abby woke up she said very discouraged, "Ooooohhhh maaaan! Everything is covered in white again!" We are all really hoping we get to take that trip to sunny AZ this month, even though it would be about a 60 degree change!

I-Spy a Ladybug

Here is a picture of Jantz watching a movie with his new "pet" ladybug. He found a ladybug in the house (we seem to find them here and there all the time) and he carried it around and let it walk all over him for an hour or so before he lost track of it.
Some funny things he said recently:
Mom, if I catch a leprechaun I will tell them I want to wish for them to go to heaven and bring back great grandma "Hamlin." (Who he never met) Then Dayton and I had a lengthy conversation with all 3 kids about why we don't think it is possible for leprechauns to bring back the dead. Some of the responses were: Josh said of course they can, they are magic. Jantz, said he just knows they can - he "swears!"
Mom, how old is Miley Cyrus? I say - 14. He says, wow! She is so old! She is the best singer. How old is Hannah Montana? I say, 14. Oh my gosh, they are BOTH the same!

All Dressed Up!

Happy Easter to everyone out there. This is definately NOT the best picture, but you get the idea. I will stage it again some other time.

HAPPY ST. PATTY'S DAY!
We are very LUCKY to have a wee lil bit of some Irish in our blood. An old Irish saying says...
"If you're lucky enough to be Irish, then you're lucky enough.”

Happy Birthday Grandma!!
How LuCKy is grandma to have her birthday on St. Patrick's Day! Everyone pitched in for lots o' fun! Aunt Bax and Uncle Glen planned dinner, Brooke made the cake and Cami provided entertainment.
Yes, folks that is GREEN VELVET CAKE and GREEN PINEAPPLE ICE CREAM! Grandpa picked up mom's favorite ice cream in a 3 gallon container. That's the gift that keeps on giving throughout the ENTIRE year ahead...

We all gave mom a digital picture frame to take to work

Ok, check out the cake Brooke made. This was the GREENEST cake I have ever seen. 1 1/2 big bottles of green food coloring went into this velvet cake - with cream cheese icing...LUCKY us! It was really so good! Nice job Brooke!

Cami came up with a really fun treasure hunt for the kids. They definately found a POT O GOLD at the end!

I was so glad Josh finished the day with something...he had spent hours in the backyard building traps and chasing after leprechauns. He told us of all the near misses he and his friends had earlier in the day at recess with the lucky little guys. Unfortunately, he did not catch one, BUT he was so close at one time that he got kicked in the stomach by a frightened leprechaun! Poor Josh! Better LUCK next year!

Tea Party with Belle
As a sidenote to Abby's birthday celebration I bought tickets for me and Abby to go to the play "Beauty and the Beast." Krista told us about the play because Kelsey's friend Benny was "Chip" the tea cup. Grandma Gibson has followed Benny through his last couple of plays so she was on board to go again. We have to see him in the days before he becomes a STAR! The play was AWESOME! We loved it! Our tickets included a luncheon with Belle before the play.

All the girls made a princess crown

We took pictures with the cast

All the girls waiting for Belle to walk down the staircase

Belle gave each little princess a silver crown charm, a rose, and a silver wand

The girls also put a glitter star on their cheeks and glitter in their hair to get ready to learn some princess techniques like dancing like a princess and waving like a princess.

The Sweet and Sassy.com limo was there so everyone could check it out. It was definately FABULOUS! They were advertising their new store designed for little girls birthday parties. I am sure Abby is already thinking about booking a party for next year!

PaRk DaY! YeA!!
We had a litle rain last week and because of that we can officially say there is not one speck of snow left in our yard - for the first time since before christmas!! We are thrilled that spring is on its way! We took off to the park after school on Friday.

HaPpY BiRtHdAy AbBy!

A whole weekend of Fabulous!! Abby had so much fun this weekend. She was able to celebrate over and over and over again.

Part 1 - Here is how her day began.....

Before school she opened a couple of gifts from the family...including this Barbie (Giselle) from the movie Enchanted.
Then we were off to the mall to get her ears pierced...this is BEFORE

This is after!

She absolutely LOVES having her ears pierced! Her dad about died when we asked the price! Ear piercing isn't as cheap as it was oh, a few years ago...

We ate lunch at the mall and when we left, we ran into the Easter Bunny!

After school we fed some hungry ducks...and this goose!

Then it was off to Red Robin for dinner to celebrate Cami's birthday too!

Hailee dove right into that birthday treat! Glad I don't have to clean her up!
Then we went bowling! This is one of Abby's VERY favorite things to do! We all had a great time...even Grandma got in on the action!

After counting down her birthday every day for three weeks, it was finally over, the day she had looked so forward to had come and gone....until

Part 2 - Friend Birthday Party
On Saturday she had a "few" friends over for a birthday party. She and I had been planning this really fun Hannah Montana party with 5 or 6 girls with lots of really fun "girly" things to do. Then after all these hours of planning the most wonderful party. Abby decided that there were lots of boys she wanted to invite. She decided she would rather scrap all the Hannah plans and just do some regular party games so she could include the boys! OK?? I couldn't believe I was starting from scratch all over again. BUT, IT IS HER BIRTHDAY RIGHT? I was just happy that my VERY shy little girl was wanting to socialize with so many people...even boys! Being the wonderful parent I am, I said sure! So, we planned to play some lame party games instead, which was fine. The kids had a wonderful time and had no idea we had to change everything at the last minute. In fact, she even received her first ever phone call from a boy that morning! She was hilarious! I would've given my right arm to have a video camera in my hand for that call. She just grined from ear to ear, kept closing her eyes, jumped up and down over and over and fanned her hands in the air. She hardly said anything! It was so-SO cute! At one point she was so embarrassed that she just quit talking all together and I had to grab the phone and finish the conversation! It was really funny!

Doing the limbo, to Hannah Montana - of course!
And what 6 year old birthday party would be complete without a Hannah cake???

Playing one of those "lame" party games - musical spots! At least we played Hannah music right? I am sure you saw that one coming!!

Pin the necklace on the pop star. Can you guess which one??

This is a picture of Abby with all her little "peeps!"

The party continues - Part 3
One party a day just isn't enough for us...so we took the party over to Dayt's mom's house Saturday night. Grandma Jackson has a birthday on the 10th so we celebrated all the March birthdays with a little strawberry shortcake at Grandma and Grandpa Mac's!
