Field Day / Little House on the Prairie Day
Dayt and I split up this week. He went to Josh's little house on the prairie day and I went to Abby's field day. Here are a couple of pictures of her and some classmates and some of the fun activities they did outside.

Abby and Emilee

I volunteered for field day because you can bring your preschoolers if you need to.....enter... Jantzen. He had a great time hangin with the big kids and wasn't intimidated at all.
Check out the big boys with their cups of water and Jantz with his little squirt gun pistol standing right in the line of fire. He was drenched about 3 seconds after this picture was taken and thought it was the most wonderful thing ever! He has a bit to learn about water fights, where to stand, what to use...better luck next year!
These little squirters were awesome! The kids loved them! I heard the teachers say they got them at the dollar store. I gotta get me some of these, they kept the kids entertained foreva!

Now this would be where I would start posting pictures about the 2nd grade Little House on the Prairie day...unfortunately for Josh, his dad had the camera the whole time but forgot to take pictures. So I guess I will just mention a couple of things they did. They all went to school dressed like pioneers. They made butter, learned how to use a needle and thread, made some art using tin and nails, listened to some violin players, got to eat lunch outside in the rock garden (this is huge in the world of a 2nd grader!) they played marbles, cat's cradle and jacks. Then they made biscuits, and had a watermelon seed spitting contest. Uh, YEAH, of course my son won that! I was so thrilled that he is the best spitter in the class, something to be proud of! Then later in the week he was picked as one of three Students of the Week, brought home a report card with all 4's and only two 3.5's (out of 4) his district testing came back at over 90% in every subject, with some subjects where he scored 100%. He is testing well above his grade level. AND he made Call of Champions - Way to go JOSH! Then I was REALLY PROUD!

I am so proud of both of the kids, they did wonderful in school this year!
