Mothers Day

First of all, I do not like Mothers Day. I hate all the attention and expectations on Mother's Day. In fact, dread it completely. Today, however, I LOVED it!
It is all about the little things for me. I never want to forget the cute little things the kids did for me or the things they said in their own words....

Abby's book from school - some highlights:

What is the most important thing in your mom's life - that she loves me
Why did your mom marry your dad - that they loved ech ether
Mom wants Dad to fix - when the sink is kloged my dad hast to get whatever thats in ther
What can't you do around your mom that you wish you could? - yelling at her
How do you get your mom to say yes when you want her to? - beg rilly rilly rilly bad and say please
What do you think your mom wants the most? - She wants to have fun a hug and she want's our family to be nice

No breakfast again this year - dang that early church time!!
This year they made me a special lunch. They called it "The Sampler Plate"
Each kid chose something that they thought I would love to eat....hmmmm
Josh chose - Tortilla with cheese
Abby chose - Piece of Digorno combo pizza
Jantzen chose - Chicken patty with grapes
Served with a special drink - diet pepsi with Lime ooohhh kudos for that - it's been awhile! I was FULL! I laughed when Abby said that Dad wouldn't let her pick a dessert to give me. He told her that I didnt need one - CLASSIC! I never actually got to the bottom of that whether it was because he didn't want to have to find something or if he really doesn't think I should be eating it - ha ha ha...They also set the table with a real tablecloth - rarity at our house - and they burned some pineapple oil for a fabulous smell!

Here are some questionaires that they filled out....this is my favorite part!

What I Know About My Mom

My Mom is as pretty as
Josh - A daisy
Abby - A rainbow

What is the smartest thing mom said to you?
Josh - Make sure you take your medicine
Abby - Always read chapter books
Jantz - Go to Lagoon!

What do you do that makes mom crazy?
Josh - A lot of things. Mostly when I am annoying
Abby - Yelling at her and talking back
Jantz - Slap her (This is wither when he contantly hits me over and over to get my attention or when he goes through a mood where he just hits me everytime he sees me or walks by me all day long) Thought that one needed some explanation!

What do you do that makes mom the happiest?
Josh - Giving her gifts
Abby - Help her clean and do work for her

Josh - when she acts like me
Abby - Tickle me

What do you want to give mom for Mother's Day?
Josh - my school card that I made her (which was soooo cute. Great pic of him, super nice poem and a cd with all the classes favorite recipes that they had typed earlier in the year for homework - LOVED it! He drew a pic of me at the bottom of his paper
Abby - A ring and a hug and a kiss. She also wrote on the bottom of her paper - Dear Mom, I love you. You are special to me and I love you. Happy Mothers day from Abby.
Jantz - Some water in a glass. He drew a picture of a snowman (I think) and wrote the words like only a preschooler can with backwards letters and all - Happy Mother's Day from Jantz

Today was also Jantz's 5th birthday!! He woke up today and said I don't want to go to "chorch" on my "birfday!" He expected to be able to go bowling or out to dinner at Chuck E Cheese or something fun like that. But he had such a great day. More details to come about that. We had everyone in my family over (2nd Sunday of the month) for dinner to celebrate Jantz and grandpa's birthdays and Mother's Day. It was a FAB day!

I couldn't have been happier. No gift could've meant more. I love their special words for me in their little notes. I loved their hugs and kisses and their snuggles. I love my kids, I love my family and I was absolutely THRILLED to be a mother today!
